17th September 2026 NOTICE National Conference on ESG, Climate Reporting and Sustainable Finance The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nepal (ICAN) is pleased to inform all concerned that the Institute is organizing a National Conference on ESG, Climate Reporting and Sustainable Finance with the objective of enhancing awareness and professional understanding of emerging developments in Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), sustainability reporting, climate-related reporting, carbon markets and governance disclosures on 16th Ashoj 2083 (2nd October 2026) at Hotel Yak & Yeti, Durbar Marg, Kathmandu. The Conference is being organized to strengthen the professional understanding and practical readiness of Chartered Accountants and other stakeholders in responding to the rapidly evolving ESG and sustainability landscape. The programme will also focus on the role of professionals in strengthening the quality, credibility and transparency of sustainability-related information, supporting informed decision-making and contributing to sound governance and sustainable economic development. A key highlight of the Conference will be a session led by Dr. Divaldo Rezende, an internationally recognized expert in climate change, carbon markets, carbon sequestration and sustainable development, with over 40 years of professional experience. Dr. Rezende has provided consultancy and advisory services to organizations including the World Bank, UNDP and Inter-American Development Bank, complemented by knowledge-enhancement sessions delivered by subject-matter experts.
